The Prostate Cancer Registry (PCR) provides a valuable resource to monitor treatments and outcomes following a diagnosis of prostate cancer. It captures information on men diagnosed with prostate cancer in Victoria.
The registry provides population-based information on the patterns of care for men diagnosed with prostate cancer and assesses whether there is variation in health-related quality of life and survival following diagnosis of prostate cancer across Victoria.
Registries identify variation in patterns and processes of care and outcomes and factors that influence adverse outcomes. Registries also provide a valuable tool to track how innovations in the science translate into longer term outcomes in the ‘real world’
