On 17 June, The Movember Foundation hosted the launch of the Prostate Cancer Outcomes Registry – Australia and New Zealand in Melbourne at The Alfred Hospital.
The Prostate Cancer Outcomes Registry initiative will provide clinicians with information about how their patients are performing compared to others, to ensure consistent and best possible outcomes for patients.
Clinical and patient experience data is vital to measure any adverse side effects that may occur from surgical, radiation or medical prostate cancer treatments. The Prostate Cancer Outcomes Registry will now collate and provide independent patient experience data to clinicians. Any inconsistencies and gaps identified in the data will create opportunities for clinicians to make improvements to the quality of patient care provided in Australia and New Zealand.
The Movember Foundation have funded this initiative and Registry and are committed to the quality of care and the survivorship of men with prostate cancer. Movember aim to improve long term survival for prostate cancer patients as well as ensure the survival is of excellent quality. The Movember Foundation is congratulated and strongly commended for funding this critical Registry
